Testing the hardware...

Post by Viktor »

Within DTASwin..

can I force the fan to trigger?
without having to run the engine up to temp.

Cheers

Yes, display and test functions/test injectors, coils and auxiliaries/start, then check the box for the item you want to test.
Make sure you don't fill the engine with fuel!

Or just disconnect the coolant temp sensor and the fan should run, a safety feature in the event of sensor failure.

If disconnecting the sensor, the "fail" default value would need to be higher than the fan turn on temp for this to happen

Steve, no, the default is to run the fan on sensor failure regardless, the default fail value is for map compensations.

My error sorry, Steve is right, on sensor failure it depends on what the default setting is, I tested it last night!
