Map not transferred successfully / ECU not responding

Post by mark220475 »

Hello and happy new year to you all

I have a problem connecting to my ECU

EUC S60
Firmwear 71
Connection type
Usb to rs232 laptop
Serial port adaptor to RS232 laptop
Serial port to rs232 Desktop
All running WIN 7

Tried to connect my HTC M8 phone to the ECU using the online instruction
See link

http://dtadroid.com/getting-started/

ERROR MASSAGE come up
Map not transferred successfully

Did not think to much about this and backed out of the setting page

Connected phone back to ECU and it would not respond

Connected laptop back to ECU and now I get two messages

ECU not responding please try again

And

Map not transferred successfully

So as I can’t find a way to access to the ECU I tried to flash it. And I get on start up of the program

InitMonitor failed
Monitor:BSL: No aknowledge recived
Com: Receive: Timeout or Lost of data

"Ok" this message and programme opens

Com port: green
Monitor: red

*LOAD MONITOR-->ERROR
Description: InitMonitor failed.
Monitor: BSL: No aknowledge Received.
Reset your application and reload the monitor.
Com: Receive: Timeout or Lost of data
RESET your application and click on the RELOAD button

Can anyone help me out in gaining access to the ecu again so I can try and flash it or reload a base map
Thanks
Mark

Can you clarify what you're talking about ?

The DTADroid app is not for programming the ecu. It's an experimental app for display purposes only.

USB adaptors are troublesome. Have you ever had good communication with the ecu ? Or is this first time ?

Have you ever successfully flashed the ecu ? Or is this your first time ?

Yes I understand that, I was just trying to let people know what I was doing when things stopped working. And the setting I changed which are only for data streaming this should not have anything to do with my problem, my problem occurred when I was trying to set the phone up.

Yes had good comm's using serial adaptor from laptop (startech.com. usb based rs232 express card. unknown chip set).
How and what do you use to connect computer to ECU?

No this would be my first time and I was only going to try this as I couldn't gain access to the ECU. Thinking that I would start again with a blank ECU.

I have had a chat with the boys at DTA and they are telling me that its comm's problems, so on there recommendation I have ordered a new usb adaptor (prolific 2303) and going to use the drivers from the DTA site.
All going well the adaptor should be here today (Amazon before 1pm service)
I'll feed back what happens later today.
Unless you have any ideas that may help

Here we

New USB adaptor installed with drivers
connection is now good,

but

the ECU is now asking for a PIN unlock code. ECU was not locked before!!!
I have tried the master unlock codes that are on here but no luck.
I have also tried an unlock program that is also on here but with no luck.

How do I get the ECU unlocked?

I'm nearly sure someone had that same scenario before and again it was a comms issue.

Can you try a laptop with a serial port, or even an old XP machine ?

If you have a flash cable, with the S2K flash software, are you getting two green lights there ? You can flash regardless of any pin lock as far as I know.

After meanly attempts I have now flashed the ECU using Windows 7 and a serial port.
But it still asks for the unlock code

when i ok the the unlock panel
I get a new window saying
"map not transferred successfully"

when I click retry I then get
"ECU not responding"
when I click try again
the program opens up but most of the controls e.i. maps ect are greyed out

how do I unlock the ECU. I dont care if the current installed map is lost as i have a copy of it.

So you cant load a map in or anything ?

It still sounds like comms or an ecu problem.

Surely if the ecu was just pin locked, you would never get a message like ecu not responding ?

What firmware version were you using before ? and what software version ?

is it actually wired into a car loom or are you testing on a bench?

To start with the EUC was all wired up on a motorcycle, with the engine running and all sensors working. Then the problem started. So I played about with it for a bit still wired up, then after no luck removed it and was just powering it up with no sensors connected on the bench. Also that way i could use the desk top computer that has a serial port on it.

I have chatted with the boys at DTA Fast this morning and the unit has to be return to them to have the pin lock removed, at the same time he is going to check it over.
