Is there an easy way to identify terminals allowing me to re-crimp rather than replace the whole connector?
Things like the TPS, Coils, etc
Thanks in advance
Tim

Re: Re-crimping/Terminating OE Connectors
Do you mean the TPS connector end, or the ECU connector end?
Re: Re-crimping/Terminating OE Connectors
I mean at the OE TPS end.
So rather than splicing the wires using solder, I'd like to re terminate them into the original connectors.
Perhaps I'm using the wrong terminology?

Am I looking for pins? The above would appear to do what I need, but they're in Australia and the postage is daft. I assume with some form of identifier, I'd be able to buy them from RS or the like.

I'm with you, you want new pins for the new loom you're making.
Depends on the manufacturer. If it's TE or similair, then you'll probably be OK.
If it's Sumitomo or similair, you'll struggle.
You can also try http://www.bmotorsports.com, they have a good range.

There are so many different types of connector, housing, pins etc etc, you really need to know exactly what you want in order to buy replacements.
And yes that can be very difficult, because there can be many that look very very similar, but are different.

Re: Re-crimping/Terminating OE Connectors
I've just bought some connectors from Kojaycat - they have photos of most of them so quite easy to identify, though not sure if they sell just the crimps.
Took me a while to identify what I wanted but got all the Suzuki crank, cam, TPS, etc
Also try Polvolt.
from my experience, it's quite easy to damage the connector body removing the old pins so a safer bet is to replace the whole thing (I funds permit).

The secret is knowing how to remove the pins, and the correct tools for the job. But finding out can be difficult and expensive.
Some of the extraction tools are a fortune !!! I paid near £50 for one single damn tool, a while back !!
Have to say though, it did work superbly, without it extracting would be nearly impossible.
