Hi Guys,
I'm starting to install my s60 on my e30 and I just want to be sure about the good way to do it.
I'm a mechanic and it's really not in my skills to do a loom, each time I want to start i spend a lot to think, see wirings but for now i can't do it.
I've seen some installation with a modified oem loom, other with oem loom but at one end the DTA ECU plugs and other with an fully homemade loom.
The difficulty for me here is to integrate the s60 loom to the original car loom, I mean with the rest of electrical components like the instrumentation cluster.
I'm really lost with this.
Thanks for reading and sorry for my english ;)

Ideally, you want a custom made loom to do the job, but that can cost heaps - depending on complexity.
If you're planning on keeping the original car loom, most of it should be useable but will need a good bit of time to identify all the specific sensors and stuff needed for the DTA and then modifications as needed to integrate it together.
Maybe worth buying one of the basic wiring kits sold by DTA, which should allow you to splice into the original BMW loom.
Do you have any friends who are good with car electrics to help you? It's not rocket science, but does need care and attention to detail.

If you can get your cars ecu connector, you could probably make a patch harness that would cover most stuff. So only a few additional wires needed.

I finally start the loom !
I'm happy with that, it's was so difficult to begin
I do it with the basic loom sold by DTA and some more pins for the connectors.
I use BMW plugs at eachs ends of loom, classic sheath and heat-shrinkable sheath to have a nice and sexy finished loom.
I've segregated a part of the original BMW engine loom for the link between the engine and the instrumentation cluster.
Never give up and keep on rolling :)
