Drawing tools for loom design.

I need to put together a reasonably complicated loom over winter for an S80, I’ve already spreadsheeted out the connections, but it would be really helpful to actually draw out a diagram of the looms.

Bear in mind it’s something I only end up doing every four or five years or so, it’s not worth paying for full pro solutions. Just wondered if anyone had any suggestions, or is it back to Visio or something similar. (There seem to be piles of handy little circuit drawing programs, I even wondered whether one of those would do a reasonable job?)

Thanks in advance.

draw.io is reasonably easy to use.

I must be old fashioned - I draw them out on squared paper, and then scan them into the computer....

Although I do start with a spreadsheet for all the connections.

Thanks Alex,

Will have a look at draw.io

I know what you mean SMR, I do tend to do rough paper sketches anyway, it’s just easier to keep, and to keep updated, electronic versions these days.

for anyone searching, thought I'd add in TinyCAD

https://sourceforge.net/projects/tinycad/

It's opensource, capable of far more than what we need it for but it's pretty straightforward and helped me out on a couple of looms in the past.
