The T10 does roll the barbs around fine. It has two round cavities. I have both the proper amp tool and a T10, the T10 does almost as nice crimp - it just takes two operations per pin instead of doing the crimp and roll in one hit.mefmotorsport wrote:adamw (above) said that the T10 micro crimper was the one that worked, I'm not convinced since it needs to roll the 2 barbs in a circle around the insulation. I have asked the US ebay seller who sells this one: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WEATHERPACK-P ... 35c17c47e5 if he can supply T10 and he says he can and will list one soon. I will put up the link when it appears and we can take a look at it.

I do know there is also a slightly different pro-crimp iii tool supplied by Motec Oz.

Re: Motec Universal Crimper
is it not possible to get a handful made from silver steel to fit in a reasonable priced crimp tool?

Re: Motec Universal Crimper
The guy on ebay USA crimped some pins that he thought were the same as the DTA ones with 3 different crimp tools that he sells, here are the pictures, to me the left hand one which he says is weather pack looks like the best job:
What do you guys think? Not sure if it says T10 or T16 on the left hand label?

Re: Motec Universal Crimper
Left one actually looks like the T18 I bought.
But it also looks like he isnt using the round crimp...they're just far too big. Maybe the smaller ones squeeze enough flat that they fit though.

yes, that label might say T18, its not clear! I think they are round crimp pins, I sent him a close up of one and he said he thought he had some pins the same, I suggested 18-22awg wire was to be used.

Re: Motec Universal Crimper
I havent tried the T18 against a pin, but I know from looking at it, the round bit in the crimper is massive
Although had been thinking about some of the many hexagon crimpers you see online, would they be any use ? For BNC style plugs, some of them jaws for regular ratchet crimpers go down very small

Re: Motec Universal Crimper
The one on the left is a T18, the one on the right is a T11, neither has the correct size round cavity.

P.S. my T10 came from here: http://www.racetronix.biz/itemdesc.asp?ic=199-T-10&Tp=
