Re: How to protect my amplifier's???
the internal amplifiers are protected, they will clip current at 9A and will shut down if they get to hot. so your fairly safe!
what makes you think they need more protection? has anyone had one go wrong?

Re: How to protect my amplifier's???
À friend of my has a older dta ecu connected to a BMW 3.0 engine
And his ignition coil where broken and it fried 3 amplifier's in his dta
Thats why
Im thinking to use external KMS amplifier's to protect The dta

Re: How to protect my amplifier's???
Unless a particular coil is prone to failing (in which case you would chose not to use that sort to start with) then most coil failures would be because of too much dwell time, I would have thought. I rarely see a failing coil these days, especially in such a way as to damage an igniter/ignition driver.
Personally I would use the internal drivers as it dramatically simplifies wiring and is a great feature of the DTA - one of many reasons I prefer them over other brands.

Re: How to protect my amplifier's???
if your that worried then put a fuse between the coil and the ecu, seams like a waste of time to me tho the.
or turn off the internal amps and use bosch ones!
