RB26 wiring

Post by rocar »

Has any body wired an RB26 CAS ???
As Nissan diagram says Crank Position Sensor (120) and Crank Position Sensor (1) but DTA diagram

1 - TDC Signals - White
2 - 360 degree signal - Green
3 - +5V - Red
4 - Signal GND - Black

Which is the 120 and which is 1

Ive only ever wired a SR20DET on a Link ecu.

The 360 is purely for engine speed only. ie an rpm reference.

The TDC signal would be the "cam/phase" signal.

Can you post up the Nissan drawing ?

Or Does this Motec info help ? ref = crank, sync = cam

or first google search

They run on 12V oem, not 5V though it may work fine. I use 12V.
Pinout listed is correct. by 120 they mean every 120 degrees which is TDC's, 1 is every 1 degree which is the 360 wheel - which is 180 crank teeth.

stevie is right, crank=ref, sync=cam

If at all possible on the RB26, try and run a chopper disc on the crank - it will improve timing accuracy, especially if you have put larger cams in the head.

Being a straight six with an alloy head on a steel block and a cam belt drive, the factory ref signal on the CAS does move around a bit.
