Mk4 golf crank sensor wiring

I don't understand how the shield and ground can be the same, can anyone in lighten me as I'm abit confused thanks Ben do u have to run the shield wire?

I think the instructions are fairly explicit in this area, the sheild should be grounded at one end only

The issue is that I have a connection between both ground crank wire which seams strange but the both connect to pin 47 of the p8 pro Ecu

Sorry, I don't understand what your issue is. Just do this :-

Crank sensor connections
Use twisted pair wire with overall screen for
crank sensor
VR sensor pin outs (magnetic)
Pin 1 to pin 8
Pin 2 to pin 47
Shield to pin 47 at ECU
Vauxhall/Opel/BMW/Volvo/Saab/etc. (Bosch &
Siemens)
Pin 1 to pin 8
Pin 2 to pin 47
Pin 3 to shield to pin 47 at ECU
Marelli
Ford
Pin 2 to pin 8
Pin 1 to pin 47
Shield to pin 47 at ECU
