Polarity / pin out Questions

Post by katana »

Hi - did a search without a clear answer so here goes.... I'm using a std Ford Mondeo coil pack, crank and cam sensors (the later for sequential fueling and eventually COP's) but I need to know how the 3 pins are positioned - I guess the centre is 12v but which side is 1/4 & 2/3. I have the std mondeo plug so even wire colours would be useful. Then the other two, looking at the sensor plug how are signal & ground arranged ?

I know I can wire then swop around but would like to avoid the faffing around whilst curing all the other inevitable problems! ;)

Cant help, but there is no guarantee the centre is 12v either.

Maybe try measuring resistance across them ?

I'd think if you measured between the two firing pairs...you shouldnt get a reading ?

But between 12v and a firing coil, you would get a reading through the windings ?

I've just checked a mondao coil I have and the center one is 12v, the left is the left pair or coils when viewed from the connector and right right pair.

Thanks Rob - that pretty much the way I was leaning!
