Multipin connectors, anyone got sources - Neptune or similar

Post by PhillipM »

I'm after a multipin connector - panel mount female and male plug - similar to the Neptune ones from ITT which uses rear-insert crimp connections rather than the usual solder buckets on the cheap mil-type copies.
My usually supplier has just just quoted me nigh on £140 just for one mating pair of 48-pole Neptunes with pins

RS has the shells pretty cheap (20 and 10 quid respectively for panel mount and plug - http://uk.rs-online.com/web/search/sear ... _-21-08-15 - http://uk.rs-online.com/web/search/sear ... _-21-08-15), but at 50 pence per contact it still ends up knocking on for £100.

Does anyone have either a cheaper supplier, or a similar cheaper option, or even something knocking about you're not using I can buy? I only need one :(
