Evening guys,
Does anyone have a start up map for a type1 engine?
It's a 2276 running twin throttle bodies with 10.5-1 compression ratio.
Thanks
Paul

Re: Vw flat four
If you send over a crank scope, or let me know the sensor position, I can sort something out.
Re: Vw flat four
Thanks Alex, When I can get it sorted I will get you a crank scope.
Re: Vw flat four
Well its taken some time, but it looks like I'm nearly ready to fire it.
Is the map looking right for an initial startup?

Close, but not quite.
You're having some drop outs, you can see the gaps in the yellow lines.
You need to move the crank sensor a touch closer, based on that.
When it's correct, you should see the number 35 a few times across the top of the scope, not all the random numbers you're seeing now.

Thanks Alex.
Once I sort that would I be able to start that using the map I have set up?

Re: Vw flat four

Can you provide a base map from the new crankscope?
How can i work out degrees from BTDC using the crankscope?

mising tooth position can be got very close, simply by looking at where your sensor is in relation to the missing tooth and TDC.
Then when running, verify timing is all good with a timing light. Or you might be able to do this at cranking speeds.

Based on the scope, 60 or 240 degrees should work.
Start with 60.
Also make sure the ECU is synchronising:
