In terms of the trace passing zero on the falling edge..doesnt matter if there is a gap or solid space. Same end result.
No "teeth" creating the falling edge through 0v for that period.
Well the OP experience disproves that theory doesn't it.
Whether its just bike installations, but they can be very finicky regarding tooth to sensor gap, gap depths and tooth width measurements and possibly the rate of change in rpm is also a factor.
Glad it sorted with a relatively simple solution.
As far as DTA is concerned it would seem so. But the actual proper scope trace would still be a valid and good one. It's obviously down to how DTA is interpreting it which we have no control over.
Thanks guys for all your help its so use full to be able to ask like minded people and it goes to prove we never stop learning I have a bike with an E48 one bike an S40 and now a Suzuki Gsxr1000 with the S60 on it I personally love DTA products and have been using them for years mainly on Suzukis I just wish I had programmable systems when I had RS2000s in the 70s.
Great Products

I first read that as you were putting a 2.0L Zetec into Suzuki!
