Although sometimes it can be just as handy to build a new engine loom, sometimes OEM do things that dont marry up well with a plug n play type setup. Although it is a method I like using, as it means nothing is so permanent.

So plan it all very carefully and dont be afraid to make a partial new loom if it doesnt look like the OEM patch might work properly.

I sometimes do that, with MAP/IAT/boost sol. in a separate little harness.

Thanks guys yes I have already realised it may pay to forget the idea of trying to make a plug n play loom and start afresh as I think it would be sensible to change the throttle body and sensor setup and rotor pickup system.

You can still pnp for some of the stuff, eg power, injectors, rev counter, some sensors etc.

But it might be convenient to add things like crank/cam sensor, coil triggers etc on a new section of loom, assuming you werent going to retain the dizzy thing they used to use.

But there is still a lot of the OEM wiring you can make use of and plug into so should you ever need to fallback to the original ecu, it will be easy to do.
