Just started an RB25 Neo with oem CAS, running fine fully sequential.
Problem is with Vvt as cam sensor is on Exhaust cam and Intake is variable.
Does Vvt works ?
RB25 vvt
Re: RB25 vvt
I'm pretty sure the vvt is just off or on with those engines so yes it will work.

Re: RB25 vvt
A lot of searching seems to suggest the basic RB25DET is a simple on off, but the NEO may well be variable. If it is truly variable..how much actual control without a position feedback sensor though is another matter.
Re: RB25 vvt
So it 0 deg or max ie 30 deg or so ? Like Vtec
Re: RB25 vvt
Made some research and yes they are on /off basis , it should be switched on around 1500 rpm and switch it off around 5000 rpm.
One question I wired solenoid on cam control pin 5. Do I have to use an Aux output or can be switch on/off from Cam Functions ?
Thanks

Re: RB25 vvt
I'm sure it could be activated much the same as a Vtec would on a Honda which just uses a simple 2 wire solenoid.
Probably just treat it as Vtec, and from searching it seems to move the cam 20deg ?

Re: RB25 vvt
But if I'm not wrong Vtech is wired on different OP and also you can only switch on certain rpm and remains on until rpm goes down again.
I need to turn off again after about 5000 rpm
I will try to use PWM map

You can do it with the cam pwm maps or one of the aux outputs. I've been through the same thing with BMWs early vanos.
