thanks for the video,
just watched it, best i ordered a original aem coil to replace the other one. The new coil sparks as hard as the other ones (1cm from block)

Hoping al the troubles will be gone now

Hi,
no succes to get it to run any better.

it's shooting and banging, can get it to run a couple of seconds and it stalls.

Could it be the cam sensor isn't reading correctly?
if i go on the 'coil per plug setting' and put 'only coil per plug above' on 2000rpm. And do the same in 'sequential ingition'.
then I have the idea it likes it a bit beter.
In the maunual I don't find any info about: cam function ->camshaft control.
maybe something isn't correct here.

Was also thinking about the option of putting it waste spark. Could i just connect the trigger from coil 3 with 1 and coil 2 with 4. Or will I need to adjust more things to do this?

You do not need to change any wiring to switch from fully sequential coil per cylinder, to have it run off crank trigger only and wasted ( twin spark ) coil per cylinder.

Just click to enable twin spark with zero offset.

What does diagnostic screen say about any crank or cam errors ?

well no luck so far.
it's still shooting and banging.

With the hall sensor kit installed and after the oscilloscope test (had a good clean vieuw), the pc said it was a 36-1 trigger wheel and at aprox 80° btdc (the info on the site from the crank pulley is the same). So assuming that is right.
Then we put these values in and looking at the ingnition table (15° at 800rpm).
When we crank it and check with strobe light, the flash isn't consistent and is showing something like 40°

So then we change to a magnetich sensor just to see if it would make any difference. Other trigger wheel, sensor and changed the wiring, did the osciloscope test, had a good image and said it was at 290° btdc (this was also correct when you looked at it).The attached picture is this setup, tdc is at 12 o'clock.
Now with the strobe light it 's flashing at 5-10°.
But it still won't start, banging and cuffing it is.

Just to be sure i tried it with a ford wasted spark module (changed the amplifed setting, wiring, etc). Did the coil test, al the plugs spark but still at the wrong timing i guess.

Anyone has a idea what i could still try? Running out of idea's.
Thanks

Is your sensor looking directly at the teeth ? It looks like it is at an angle ?

Is the engine currently at TDC/firing on cylinder 1 in that photo ? And engine rotation would be clockwise ?

If so then it looks like tooth position should be around 60deg.

Let's take a step back, and remove the cam sensor from the problem, by running the coils in wasted spark mode.
Set Sequential Injection to No, One Coil Per Plug to No, make sure the cam control is turned off (your picture above is correct).
Then tick Twin Spark in the General Engine Settings.

The other thing to check is the coil signal wiring is in FIRING order, not CYLINDER order.
Then check the timing. Put 10 degrees in the whole ignition table, and make sure the timing matches.
If you also put the firing tooth on start up to 1, then you should see roughly 10 degrees of timing at all times.

Hello,
well good news. A hour after my previous post i found it.
The problem was that the degrees from the crank kit wern't correct, changed them 10 degrees at a time and found it.

It idles good now, did a little trip with the car already.
But airfuel ratio's arn't good, the gauges and the ecu gives a other value.
So i will have to find out if the values i put in are correct.
using this afr kit:
http://www.aemelectronics.com/products/ ... safe-gauge
it's with a 5 wire bosch lambda sensor (that isn't a option in the sensors)
so i used these values:
http://www.bosch-motorsport.com/media/c ... 435pdf.pdf

After this is sorted i tike i will be able to give it decent test run.
Dyno time is also booked, so the tuner will do the other adjustments.

thanks

if you are using an AEM kit, why would you choose to use data from something that has no relevance to the kit you are using ?

AEM's instructions are clear to see.

We may not like reading instructions...but they are generally there for a reason. RTFM :)
