well that was depressing! swoped the wiring over to coil order i.e coil1 -cyl 1 and it now doesnt try to fire any cylinders?
back to the drawing board!

Re: Vauxhall X25XE
Try doing as previously suggested by actually finding the firing order by testing?

fire order is 123456 1 o/s/f 2 n/s/f 3 o/s centre 4 n/s/centre 5 o/s rear 6 n/s rear

Re: Vauxhall X25XE
Take a step back.
First, do a crank scope. Check the cam sensor is still working.
Second, crank it over, and check it's still synchronising:
If it is, it can only be incorrect timing, or not enough/too much fuel.
Take all the plugs out except cylinder 1, then take a crank scope and send it to me so I can check the crank and cam sensor angles.

Re: Vauxhall X25XE
i will do a check later 1) i have re done the scope and it is still the same 2) will pop the plugs out and stick a pressure gauge on see the order the cylinders make compression 3) could it be the cylinder phasing in a strange place ? i.e the sensor picks up a pre determined point that is stored it knows then in so many crank pulses it is cylinder ??? as that reference could be anywhere ?

Re: Vauxhall X25XE
If you know the proper firing order it doesn't matter where the actual cylinders are positioned so if you put
F/O 123456 ( as you say)
O/P 123456
Put ecu pins in the holes that relate to these cylinders.
So 1 in pin 10
2 in pin 18
3 in pin 1
4 in pin 26
5 in pin 11
6 in pin 27

Re: Vauxhall X25XE
checked this today
it is how it is wired from what i see
i will put a spark plug lead from the coil to plug and try a timing light and check firing position
it could be the phasing if the cam sensor? may not actually be on cylinder 1?
check

Re: Vauxhall X25XE
Stop guessing and do as Alex said and make a scope trace with plug 1 in.

Re: Vauxhall X25XE
i have just re read it! with only 1 compression the crank ripple will show the 1 compression and the cam trigger it didnt sink in before! i was blinded by the obvious also the engine was put to one side as have been busy on other things!

Re: Vauxhall X25XE
looking at the scope pic i sent ales last nite amd my bad understanding of what i am seeing the cam phase sensor looks to be between 5&6 will wait for his reply before i swop wiring about incase there is a software option first
