Hi there new to this great forum.
I own a Renault 19 16v but have fitted a Megane 1 2.0 f7r 714 engine with the wasted spark single coil pack setup.
I believe the original tacho just ran off the negative coil from the remix unit on the R19 engine.
What do I need to do to get this working in conjunction with the new engine setup and the S40 pro Ecu I am about to wire in????
Any advice would be great, thanks in advance
Neil

Re: Tacho advice
You can either get a tacho adapter which is triggered from the ECU tacho out, or follow this guide:

Looking at the diagram on your link, don’t the diodes affect the signal back to the ecu to fire the coils? If you see what I mean?

Re: Tacho advice
Have you even just tried the tacho output of the ecu direct to the rev counter ?
Good chance it will just work.

It works, I've used it on my Golf.

Re: Tacho advice
Not up and running yet so not had a chance to test the ecu output.
Am at the point of wiring where I want to keep it as neat as possible so was hoping to only do the once.!?
Neg side of coils go back to ecu yes?
Just thought if diodes in-line will affect it??
Or do I run 2 sets of leads coming off the neg coils 1 for ecu and other for tacho?
Sorry if I am being dumb just not done this before.

Re: Tacho advice
Two wires per coil signal.
One from ECU to coil, then spliced from coil to tacho. The diodes will be on this splice.
