Re: T2 comunication problem
Hi,
When you say "presumably it connected to an ecu at some point" do you mean the laptop??
Regarding the laptop - I downloaded the relevant software from DTA website for the T2 and then with laptop connected to ecu I clicked on the DTA icon on the desktop and then I get a pop up box stating what ecu I have and it says "work offline"?
The ecu is recognised in devices on laptop and I doubled checked my perm/ign 12v and ground to the ecu.
Regards Glen

Of course yes. Someone had to create, install the current map. So some version of the software must easily connect with the firmware that is in it now.Westfield 20XE wrote: ↑Fri Mar 03, 2023 5:00 pm Hi,

Re: T2 comunication problem
I think I'm making progress.....
I've just installed the T2 'Beta' downloads and reconnected the laptop to car and we're communicating with the ecu.
I then clicked save and saved the map in a folder and then made another copy.
So I assume the map is now saved so I continue with the firmware update and then if the map has been erased I go and upload it again?
It's making a little more sense now.....I think....

@stevieturbo, thanks for confirming.
I'll take a proper look later on when I have no distractions and then go for it.

Re: T2 comunication problem
Success!!!
I installed the "T-Series Firmware v1.37" which allowed me to use the "T-Series BETA Software v1.23".
I was then able to install "T-Series Firmware - V5.19" and then after this I wasn't able to communicate with the BETA software but I could with the "T-Win Software for all T-Series ECUs".
Can I assume the ECU is up to date and that I won't need the BETA software anymore?

Re: T2 comunication problem
As long as you've reloaded the map you saved, you're ready to go.
If not, you'll see the fuel and ignition maps are all zero. Just re-upload the map if they are.

Re: T2 comunication problem
Hi Alex,
Yep original map reloaded.
Can you confirm that I don't need the BETA firmware/software now in which case I just delete it from my PC which I'm guessing is the case as the ECU will no longer communicate with the BETA software and only the latest software.
I'm getting me head around it now. Just the sensors to start configuring now!
