Re: Igntion to control idle
Only issue with running timing so low though, is it will have an adverse effect on emissions at idle.

Have now set it so it runs between 10 and 25 degrees advance.ignitionautosport wrote:Now to set stepper correctly (more closed) and get it closer to start with. It has a stepper which I am not using, but I think it is set full open (how the engine came). It is in a Landriver with Toyota Hilux running gear behind it. Will post up a thread later this week hopefully.

you can also set your emissions man on fire sometimes with increased header tempsstevieturbo wrote:Only issue with running timing so low though, is it will have an adverse effect on emissions at idle.

Re: Igntion to control idle
I was only proving a point - it works ridiculously well even with stupid massively open setup.
Now the throttle/bypass is set up correctly, I have seen it only run as low as 8 degrees advanced now, and up to 25. No aircon, only powersteering and alternator (radiator fan) load. I may close the throttle a touch more once it is tuned so it can run more timing when warm.
