Did you use a cnc plasma to cut yours out?
thank you. not this time i just cut a few bits by hand and spot welded the tags onto it. i would have liked to laser it out but didnt have the time. i may well replace it, but tbh now its there im not sure ill bother! it fits, looks ok, unless it breaks, its staying there.

im going to add some sticky back sponge stuff i found at work to stop any metal/metal contact.

cheers

Drew, that's a nice design....

I did suggest to Allan at DTA that they should have a standard bracket available, something along the lines of yours but maybe a flat panel, a bit bigger than the ecu so you could bolt it to something. He wasn't keen though, said that velcro is good enough! Personally I think the ecu deserves mounting in a more professional manner than velcro!

I do sometimes get asked by customers for a bracket and did consider getting something suitable made up. Also there's the security issue to consider, these are expensive items so possibly vulnerable to getting nicked, a fixed attachment bracket would make it much harder to remove than velcro.

In my new car I have a fully folded alloy sheet clamp that holds it in solidly.

Worth thinking about this.

Velcro when used right though is quick, it's easy, it's secure and also adds an element of vibration protection.
