Re: dta s40 tps problem
I think you need to confirm what is and is not working.
Plug the pc back in and go into Engine Configuration / Throttle Stops
Here you can see what's happening. The butterfly should be in the area 0 - 200 when closed and 600 - 1000 when fully open, check that the movement is smooth.
If the movement is jerky there is an issue with the tps, i.e. noisy
If it doesn't move I suspect a wiring issue.
The mV display in the window may help here.
If it appears ok just go through the re-set procedure as outlined in the manual.

Re: dta s40 tps problem
I should add that the 100% tps may be the default setting on sensor failur, this can be checked in General Engine Settings, if this is a race only car I suggest setting at 100% if a road car a limp home setting might be 20-40%

Re: dta s40 tps problem
Hi, thanks for the quick reponse. ive been on the throttle stops and when its pluged in and ecu is on it shows fully open (100%) unplug it and goes to defalt. i know the tps works becasue my mates got the same engine and it works on his. when the ecu is on and the tps is pluged in its got a reading of 1015 on closed throttle and when i fully open the throttle it goes up to 1021 so looks like its working, ive tryed to reset it but its says its to high
do you know what the wiring is on the plug, got numbers on it 123, were does the earth, 5v and signal go? just so i can right that off.
Thanks
Pepper

Re: dta s40 tps problem
Looks Like a wiring fault then, use the diagram to locate the issue, or check that reverse tps hasn't been inadvertently changed.
