Hello,
I'm new here and have a problem with the wheel speed sensors on my S80 control unit. For my race car, similar to the Formula Student, I use this wheel speed sensors: http://www.conrad.de/ce/de/product/1558 ... -15-mm-PNP.
The sensor is a pnp, the operating voltage according to manufacturer's 12v, but they work well with 5v.
I get no signal in the control unit.
I hope you can help me.
Regards Stefan

So you are saying you power them with 5v, and you have confirmed with a multimeter or oscilloscope you are getting a good switching voltage signal from the output of the sensor ?

Hello,
the sensor works well, the control-led lights with both voltages.
I think I got the error, I have a PNP sensor, but I've read that I need an NPN sensor.

Re: Wheels Speed Sensor Problem S80
Honeywell GT101 is the commonly used one for wheel speed.
Others of similar nature may work too. Either way, I ask again. Are you getting a switching signal 0/5v on the signal line of the sensor when you test it ?
if so, then you should be able to use it.

hello,
yes I have tested it with 5v and it works.
At a tooth I have 5V at a gap 0V.
The Honeywell sensor is too big for my car
I hope i get the new NPN sensors by friday
Regard Stefan

hello i put a left undr.wheel speed sensor but doen't work.when i connect just the wires of the sensor at the diagnostic display it's working. i read at the manual that the launch control must be enabled but not necessarily on. i dont understad the enabled think the is no such a

Other Map Settings, Launch Control, tick the box that says launch control enabled.
I dont honestly see why it would need to be enabled to get a speed reading though. Although I think mine was always enabled anyway.
I do for some reason think I always had left/right undriven wheels mixed up, although that might have been my wiring.
If it counts pulses in the diagnostic screen, you should be able to get a speed reading.
