I think it's a miracle but it's started, I've cut 2 teeth off the crank wheel turned all the sequential bits off, altered the general settings and it's going.

Now I can sleep!

12-2 that was brave! I'd have done 12-1 to start with :) Well done. You will have to try and balance the trigger up by drilling some holes if you can.

And make sure to check ignition timing with a timing light.

If you are not checking at 0 deg, make sure you check it at at least two distinctly different timing numbers and at a couple of different rpm's to make sure it's behaving as you expect it to

Somebody else has done the same. I just copied him.

I've got a few spare crank wheels so I'll see how it goes, at least I know it starts now.

I didn't want to waste any time and money on a rolling road chasing a wire I'd put in the wrong place!

Now it's going and I've fiddled around with things I'm starting to understand it all better.

There's a lot to learn though.
