Xdash. Any tips also gps?

As the title states just having a play with an X dash but not much info. Have done the configure and about to upload it. Seen the xap page and it shows gps and also a keypad for what I think is a timing system. I'm using the car for stage rallying so these things sound good spoke to Alex today and the gps is £300 plus the vat so a bit steep if it doesn't do much. So any info on this or just tips and tricks would be great.
