No, it's nothing like what is required. I have one of those. They are for normal flat blade style.

The DTA/Motec/whatever requires a finished round crimp. Ive no doubt there are tools out there, it's just finding the right one.

Those look too large, esp on the open/wire lead end. I'd suggest getting hold of of the guys at msel.co.nz and see what they can do, that's where I got mine. Assuming they'll ship overseas and it's cost effective.
They are crimpers designed for something else, but a washer under the guide makes them perfect spacing (would understand if you saw them) and works perfect every time. I believe msel have different ones now also but haven't seen them - think they said that in a phone call a while ago.

Or I can find out, put my mark-up on them and sell them to you

Too difficult to tell. If the image is correct it does not produce a round crimp though. And no idea what size the finished piece is.

I find it amazing that given how common these damn crimps are, crimp tools should be available everywhere !

Looked on that Msel website. Dont see any crimp tools at all ?

Some googling reveals these. Contact them to ensure the item is right first though;. But Motec, Haltech, DTA and many other ecu's use these same ecu plugs/pins these days

Many thanks for the links and advise there Stevieturbo. It looks like I'll end up ordered a crimper from the states, I can't justify spending silly money on a crimper that I'm only going to use for half a dozen pins to allow me to wire in the wideband sensor, gearbox sensor and undriven wheel speed.

BTW, I take it you have seen the video I filmed of you at TOTB8 on youtube?

Some of the crimpers above arent expensive. It's just knowing whether they are suitable or not.

As much as it isnt the correct way, I just squished mine with pliers and soldered them. Although some of them required a good shove to get into the housing afterwards lol

I think I removed the weatherproof seal to make it easier. My ecu will never be exposed to a damp environment so dont need it anyway

I've got one of those and it's fairly crap, but I stick with it for some reason.

Yea, it's ok for normal non-insulated terminals that require that crimper. Just ok though.

But nothing like the ecu connector ones.
