What are the differences between a p8 and an s80. I currently have a p8 in my car but have been offered an s80 at sensible money. Is here any advantages and could the map be copied across or would it need re mapping?
Thanks in advance

S80 has some more features, I changed from P8 to S80 (they are the same as s100 and can be upgraded) to get the following features -
* Gear cut by ignition retard, not spark cut
* Closed loop gear cut
* Native 5v Lambda support
* Launch rpm on knob
* Traction aggression on knob
* Native sequential gearbox controller (S100)
* Better connectors and environmental protection

These were the things I was looking for but I'm sure there are many more. The maps are sort of compatible, you just need to ensure everything is filled in correctly, doesn't always work 100%

If this sort of stuff doesn't bother you stick with the P8, buy the bargain S80 and move it on. I imagine there will be a new DTA out an a year or so?

Yes, but you have to fit a 1k pull up on each coil output.

Yes, that will be plenty, it's just a signal
