No, it had a distributor in its original form and Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection.

Stevie, yes it would but the whole point is that the owner doesn’t want to have to use a cam sensor. The distributor drive is blanked off and it wouldn’t look too good either.
Tomorrow I will go and move the coil driver pins in the S80 connector as per the P8 info and hopefully finally get it running

I noticed that in the P8 special instructions for the 5 cyl Audi engine says that the 60-2 trigger wheel must be at 60 degrees (sensor position degrees I assume) but I’m not sure if this is really important, the sensor position we have is around 75 degrees.

The P8 was fussier with regards missing tooth position. How more flexible the S series is I don't know, but there were definitely more limitations with the P8.mefmotorsport wrote:I noticed that in the P8 special instructions for the 5 cyl Audi engine says that the 60-2 trigger wheel must be at 60 degrees (sensor position degrees I assume) but I’m not sure if this is really important, the sensor position we have is around 75 degrees.
I think there was a maximum permissible, as well as a minimum ( which was something like your max advance timing plus 10 deg )

Yipeeeeeeee! It runs. Thanks everyone! It’s been a big learning curve this one! Just needs a good dose of mapping now!

Not much sounds better than an Audi Quattro engine
