S40 connector plug

Post by Jamienapthine »

Looking to add a wideband lambda sensor to my s40 . I cannot separate the ecu plug. I have pressed the long white tab in on the side until it clicks. But it will not come apart, am I missing something?. If I break the connector, will the existing pins be usable in a new connector. Thanks Jamie

The connector doesn't come apart.

Push the thick white tab in.
Then simply push the pin in to the connector until it seats.
Push the two thin white tabs down again to lock the pins in place.

Top tip is to push pins out too, dont be tempted to pull the wire! You can guess what can happen 😁

The wire/pin will pull out.

If the crimp comes apart....there needs to be serious discussions with whoever crimped them ! lol ( or didn't crimp as the case may be )
