It's a little like an XLR type connector, but perhaps not identical

All too often it's just as easy to bin such things, and fit a new connector on both sides that is easy to source.

this DIN plug has a similar locking mech, but clearly different pin layout

It's probably some sort of audio type connector. Not ideal for an engine bay environment.

IMO, I'd just change it.
