Is yours a long case version, or the revised shorter one. Wondering if the shorter one is worse due to smaller area?

Mine is a short case version, and I'm driving 8 external amplifiers.

And Stevie, what's yours? Just curious, may have no bearing on anything.

Mine is an early long case unit. Next time I go for a drive I'll make a better check. But Ive never noticed it getting warm any time Ive been near it.
