I can agree that sometimes spending the extra money for a system that works and is easy to use is good value. But again, all depends on overall goals. There will be cases where the likes of the AMS does make sense. It clearly excels at drag use so for that application yes it can do a lot and make life easier.
For this application, no it would not make sense IMO.
And no, DTA does not have two independent boost control PWM's for using 2 solenoids, one per chamber.
That isnt what I said though. A 3 port or 4 port can be configured to blow into both chambers as required. Is it the same as 2 independent channels ? of course not, but you can still make use of both chambers.
Or you could use one of the precious few Aux out channels to control a solenoid for the 2nd chamber if required.

Re: Fiat Punto GT
I did intend my comment as a broad generalization, I have seen a few AMS1000 in person on things it isn't required. Yours sounds reasonable.

Re: Fiat Punto GT
Hi Guys Happy NEW Year for all !
Here, will probably need most your valuable help !
I want to activate the sequential injection.
I placed a sensor in the intake camshaft, which produces a signal every one rotation of the cam.
I made an oscilloscope with one spark plug to the First cylinder .
And here is one with all the plugs in place.
As user manual shows (Correct me if I'm wrong) 360° divided 60 teeth = 6°
for a 60-2 pattern, every tooth is 6° multiplying to 13 is 78° .
So in the sequential injection Table, to cam position do i write 78 or -78 ?
Or
shall i be count from the double peak and on ?
where it means 22 teeth multiplying 6° = 132°
But it is ATDC, so at senquential Table, i must write 132°
Is this correct ?
But my Crank sensor is at 114°, is this correct ?
Parameter settings ...
Thanks .

Re: Fiat Punto GT
Not honestly sure, as never really used sequential !!
Does the scope software not suggest what the settings should be ? Post a full screen capture.
It could be seen as 30deg after or 690 deg before ? But DTA only allows the 360 cycle in this case.

CAMSHAFT SENSOR POSITION
The position at which the camshaft sensor switches. The ECU will measure this position for you when sequential operation is active and it is displayed in Display and Test Functions/Diagnostic Display in the information panel Note the ECU can only determine its position within one engine rotation, not one 4 stroke cycle.

Yep it works fine with -30° .

Re: Fiat Punto GT
Is -30 what the diagnostics screen confirms ?
It would probably run fine with almost any angle in there, that doesnt mean it is correct.

Yeap !stevieturbo wrote:Is -30 what the diagnostics screen confirms ?

you're right .
Here are some print screens of before ( since the first time ECU run until today ) and after reset .
(Oh ! Errors of cam signals, must be by my mistakes trying to run it before we discuss the situation )
Before
After
Ecu sees the cam tooth at -37°,-38° and I've put the value -30°
Do i have to change it ? Of Course, aright ?

Re: Fiat Punto GT
I would put it where the ecu sees it, ie -38
