It's wired to the traction control % switch which currently set at 100%
Nice and steady.

Re: Flat shifting
Rewired the sensor last night. ECU pin 9 now provides 5V to the pot and with ignition on the Geartronics display still works which is always a bonus.
I shall check the Ana3 signal tonight again, for noise.

Re: Flat shifting
Graham, not sure if that will make much odds as the unit is digital, but I kind od hope it works. Failing that its a faulty unit or an installation slack issue?

Re: Flat shifting
I have cured the noise on ana3.
Nice and steady.
But when I sit in the car and pull the lever it only stalls the engine when I change from 1st to 2nd.
If I try 2-3 or 3-4 or 4-5 nothing happens.
And three times whilst ticking over the engine just stalled.
Engine cuts out:
I have no shift cut below set to 0% for testing. Could that be the cause of the stalling in neutral.?

Re: Flat shifting
Excellent, now double check the center gear position volts, the cut is initiated when the 'dead band' is exceeded. If its staling make the dead band larger until it stops.
I have to say I'm surprised it was the 5v but well done nonetheless.

Re: Flat shifting
It was a combination of several things Rob. I have learnt many lessons.
Once the Sensor 5V was provided to the sensor, the noise dropped to 40mV.
Last night I moved the position sensor ground connection from the ECU case, to the sensor ground pin on the ECU, and hey presto, it cured the noise completely.
Ran out of time last night to do any more testing, my noise curfew starts around 9pm. I'm not 100% sure that I reconnected the ECU case to the Chassis ground, having disturbed the connection last night.
So why didn't the engine cut out when I go from 2nd to 3rd, 3rd to 4th etc. It only does this from 1st to 2nd. Do I need to try it with the Gear Dependant time table switched on? Allan says this is only needed when wheelspin is generated when shifting. With the setting off, the first setting applies to all subsequent gear shifts apparently. In my case, that doesn't appear to be the case.

Re: Flat shifting
It works.
I flashed the firmware to v73 and downloaded the v74 Pc software.
I made a correction to the Shiftcut settings and it's now working
Big thanks to Warby for the assistance.
Ran the engine for 25mins and it no longer stalls.

Re: Flat shifting
What actually fixed it then ?
The settings, or firmware upgrade ?
And any idea why it was stalling ?

Re: Flat shifting
I reckon it was the firmware. I'll run it again at Santa Pod on Sunday and see if it occurs again.
The settings were wrong. The older v71 PC software let's you enter values in the shift cut screen that simply won't work. V74 prevents that from occurring.

Loving E-Race to analyse the data logs. Why have I not used it before? So much easier than trying to plot graphs in Excel
